We headed out to the Little House in the Woods for some R&R with friends John and Andy.  Mommy knows Andy from the wine shop at the Chateau.  John dubbed me Bacon Girl because I ate 14lbs for breakfast.  We went on a hike…

Today I got in the doghouse with Daddy due to a succession of poor decisions.  The repercussions of poor decisions manifest themselves in the form of no TV, no ice pop, etc… A general deprivation of privileges.

Daddy cut a deal with me… If I agree to share the following video, I could have TV and an ice pop.  Bribery, yes.  Ironic, no?

Today a few of my princess friends joined me for a birthday session celebrating yours truly.  The butterfly theme was executed to a “T” by Mommy and her crack staff consisting of one… Daddy.  We eschewed the traditional cake in favor of some Baskin & Robbin’s ice cream clown cones after a lunch of salami and cheese with strawberry-lemonade.

The parents were quite impressed with how we all played together.  The only bummer is that Campbell was unable to attend due to suddenly coming down with a fever this morning.  Alas, the Smith’s stopped by for a second to say hello and drop of a gift.  Poor Campbell’s eye’s were glazed over in the car and she could barely stay awake.  Daddy whipped up a solution to keep her at the party in spirit…

Shortly before the party began a box of 100 homemade Vietnamese egg rolls showed up at our door made by Lai, owner of Pro Nails in Queen Anne.  Mommy and I are frequent customers of hers and she made these for me as a gesture of good luck.  Incredible thoughtful and incredibly yummy.  But 100?!  What the heck were we going to do with 100 egg rolls??  Daddy jumped on the Bajaj and fulfilled his longtime dream of being a scooter delivery man by dropping off a load for the Smiths and some for the Burgess-Moriarty clan.  Doug had just arrived home from Brazil and Joe Mo could definitely use a couple while watching college football with the guys.  Mission accomplished!

After all the excitement of cake, singing, opening presents and such, I thanked my friends with some hugs.  This was a small affair and really fun while I’m already looking forward to my make-up date with Campbell when she’s feeling better.

At the end of last week Daddy received a new gadget in the mail… A Flip Video recorder. 60 minutes of video and audio recorded directly to the device with no moving parts or tape. He never made much use of our other camcorder and when pulling it out recently to get some footage of yours truly, the dang thing no longer worked.

Flip Ultra

Another reason Daddy didn’t use the camcorder too often was because of it’s bulk. The Flip is roughly the size of an iPod. It’s going everywhere with us. And getting the video couldn’t be any easier… Just plug the Flip in via it’s built-in USB connection and drag the files to your computer. Voila!

Mommy and Daddy took turns capturing me in action on Saturday as:  we visited the Frampton’s for brunch, my Spanish time at Sponge, getting my mani/pedi at Pro Nails on Queen Anne with Mommy, rocking one of the first backyard play sessions of the year (where I was washing dishes), the Smiths stopped by for some Guitar Hero III on the Wii and finally some sweet tuckage into bed. There will be no Palm D’Or for the camera work, editing or titles - Posterity is our purpose.

So as you know if you’ve been checking in on me, we were in the Bay Area last weekend to attend a wedding and see Auntie Rosy. Daddy whipped together a little movie containing the bulk of the images he captured over the weekend. It’s 5.2MB and can be see by clicking here.
Quicktime plug-in is required.
