The Woodland Park Zoo held their annual Bunny Bounce today and the Beelman 3 were in attendance. Joining us for the shenanigans were the Smiths: Tia, Doug, Campbell and Carter.
Daddy and Doug went off with baby Carter in the under three area for him to make his big score while Campbell and I were let loose for some serious egg hunting.
Well, there was much hunt involved as the eggs were simply laid out on the enormous grassy area by the North entrance and where the Zoo Tunes concerts are held. Free-for-all was more like it.
We capped our time off there with an enjoyable carousel ride before bidding the Smiths farewell and heading to Sponge for Spanish. Mommy and Daddy dropped me off, headed directly to the nearest taco truck and got their chow on.
Later in the evening Silver and I made homemade pizza while Mommy and Daddy whooped it up with Tia and Doug at the Dahlia Lounge for cocktails and Assagio for dinner.
The other day ELDC issued a notice that they’d like updated pictures of all the families to display on the Family Tree wall in the entrance of the school. Daddy was feeling a bit cheeky, so he did our new one modeled after a look Queen made popular during their Bohemian Rhapsody video and later recreated during the height of Wayne’s World fever.
Today we finally left the house and it feels good to get some fresh air! Daddy is going to have to miss work tomorrow to visit Grammy Sam, so he’s hunkered down at IQ Beats trying to get a project finished that has a harsh deadline.
Mommy dropped me off with Daddy for a couple hours since she needed to get her nails and brows done, shop at Trader Joe’s and go for a run. Daddy took a quick time out to put me in the vocal booth and lemme do my thing.
In addition to feeling crummy and holding my parents hostage at the house, this weekend has been a huge bummer because my Great-Aunt Sue, Great-Uncle Tom and 2nd cousin Jordan are in town to hang out with Papa Jack and Cynthia and see us.
The plan was to go to the zoo yesterday and have dinner together tonight, but my fever put a wrench in all of that. I hope that I’m all good to go visit them at their new Olympic Peninsula digs as planned next weekend. In the meantime, I had this to say to my dear cousin:
When Mommy came to pick me up from school last Thursday she was greeted with an earful by my teacher Heather Jones about the constant singing to my classmates of some questionable lyrics. See, back when it was just Keith Urban there was no problem. But now that my repertoire has expanded to include Track Adkins’ Honky Tonk Badonkadonk, Big & Rich’s Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy and the line, “I’m just a full-grown queen bee lookin’ for honey” from Play Something Country by Brooks & Dunn, some of the teachers are starting to get a little antsy about where this might be headed.
I know Daddy doesn’t want to get me in trouble at school, but he’ll be damned if he’s going to trade in the aforementioned tunes for the Wiggles or the god-forsaken Dan Zanes! Don’t believe that I’m constantly singing these songs? While banned from school due to my conjunctivitis last week, Daddy turned the mic on in the vocal booth while I was going down for a nap and captured this tidbit:
